  1. Scientific ways of goat farm/shed setup:
  2. Setting up any farm correctly is very important to reduce goat mortality. We in our training:
    • Guide the farmers on scientific ways of establishing small sheds which can help in reducing goat mortality and simultaneously support the effective growth and development of the goats.
    • The training focuses on recommended size of a shed, structure of the sheds and ratio of closed vs open area, the direction of shed construction which in turn reduces the chances of bacterial infections.
  3. Farm Management including Labor Management:
  4. Operating farm in a cost efficient manner including labour management becomes very crucial for the success of a goat farm. In our training program we cover:
    • Most efficient ways of operating a goat farm
    • Efficiently manage day to day operations of the farm
    • Ways to attract labours and best strategies to retain them
    • Ways to handle labour crisis
  5. Goat Mandi Visit with live exposure of Goat Purchase and Sell Process:
  6. Our training process is very practical in nature and tries to expose prospective farmers to the challenges they can face in the future.
    • As a part of our modular training approach we train farmers on different ways and places of purchasing goats including key points to consider while purchasing goats.
    • We also arrange visits to Goat Mandis where the farmers can get a first hand experience of how sale and purchase of goats happen in the open market.
    • Additionally, the farmers are also trained in areas of effective selling where we also make them aware of best ways of selling goats with a focus on increasing profitability.
  7. Goat Nutrition and goat development:
  8. Right amount of nutrition is very important for a healthy goat and goes a long way in reducing goat mortality. A healthy goat also helps in better milk productivity and also helps generate a higher income during the sale process.
    • Our training modules especially focus on effective fodder making techniques, balanced nutrition for male vs female goats vs kids of different age groups.
    • The training modules cover all aspects of nutrition via different modes like field grazing and stall fed techniques.
  9. Impact of climatic season on Grazing Methods:
  10. Climate change plays a very important role in the growth of goats and reducing mortality.
    • Our training module is specially crafted to guide farmers on how to protect goats during different seasonal changes.
    • We also guide them on how to change the nutrition pattern during different climatic changes.
  11. Goat Disease Identification and Treatment:
  12. A key reason for goat mortality is non/late identification of any goat related disease.
    • Our training module focuses on most commonly occurring goat diseases and suggests ways to manage them more efficiently.
    • This includes knowledge of key medicines, process of delivering medicine and steps to keep a track of the physical health of any goat.
  13. Goat Vaccination and its importance:
  14. We truly believe in the concept - prevention is better than cure and vaccination plays a key role in ensuring this.
    • There is a lack of knowledge of right vaccination, timing and process.
    • Hence, we focus on right vaccination and its process which helps in enhancing the immunity level of goats thereby reducing goat mortality rate.
  15. Goat Kids Management:
  16. Breeding is a very essential way to increase goat count and generate more income from the parent stock. However, the kids' management is a very sensitive area and lack of proper knowledge among farmers lead to high kids mortality.
    • We in our training focus on various aspects of kids management - right from handling pregnant goats, safe delivery process, vaccination, diet and nutrition and safety from natural calamities and seasonal changes.
  17. Reducing Goat mortality:
  18. Goat Mortality is a serious problem for many farm owners and it is very important to ensure that the mortality rate remains in control.
    • The training program covers various aspects of controlling/reducing goat mortality at different stages - procurement/transportation/at farm/ breeding/ delivery, etc.
  19. Ways of monetising goats:
  20. Goats can be monetised in various ways and our training module on monetisation focusses on all different channels that can be used by any farmer to monetise the goats that they have.
    • The training covers aspects of breeding and selling, trading, milk production and distribution, goat based vermicompost.
    • The training also covers monetising by selling the goats and also ways to monetise even a dead goat.
    • We will also help in getting their goats sold to ensure they don’t face any hurdle in monetising their goats.
  21. Effective Goat transportation:
  22. Any sales or purchase process can involve transportation of goats even sometimes for a long distance.
    • Reducing goat mortality and maintaining the upkeep of any goat is very important
    • Our training module focuses on best ways to transport goats and various preventing vaccinations that can be given before/during a transport inorder to reduce the goat mortality.
  23. Government Subsidies & Bank Loans
  24. Government Subsidies are an important source for initial capital. Hence, we have a separate session on different government subsidies and bank loans. We will cover:
    • Interaction with bank officials regarding loans
    • Information regarding ongoing subsidy schemes
